This place is correct. By far the best consistent meal u will get in the falls. Not a real advanced menu but they pretty much do everything well. The French dip is outstanding.

A very pleasant establishment in downtown Great Falls! Nicely decorated - combo of old and new decor. Tap beer selection is good and lots of bottle choices too. We sat at the bar and enjoyed some banter with the bartender who was knowledgeable and helpful with beer samples and the menu. First, the beer: Dragon's Breath by Bayern. Excellent! The IPA was also nice but dammed if I can remember the brewer. My other guzzle partner had a Dump Truck wheat ale. Good too! B) The menu: good size selection ranging from salads and patties to sandwiches and entrée mains. Had a bison burger trimmed with Bleu cheese. Super Yum. Tator tots for side! Awesome! Guzzle partner had a pulled pork salad and all I can say is wow! Huge portion and delicious! Recommend absolutely!

Never had a bad meal here... especially in the last few years. I'm not sure exactly when the management changed but there is a noticeable difference between B&E's and the average place to eat in Great Falls. Personal favorites: the Cuban sandwich, the Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese, the Jamaican wonton cups, the fish & chips, the California burger. And plenty of others. Service is down to earth, friendly & prompt. Even during busy mealtimes I've never felt neglected. Gotta say Hailey is our favorite! Fun atmosphere, great music, unique decor. Lots of pluses to make this a favorite spot. :)

Johnny and Megan were awesome! Everything else sucked. It is NOT a full bar. I came on my 21st and its wine and beer only but was advertised as full bar. We all waited an hour to be seated for over an hour.

Had a burger and a salad and I paid just over 10 bucks. Great price with a good atmosphere. Really enjoyable!

I really liked the decor and presentation of this place. Lots of neat historical knicknacks to look at and it had the feel of an old saloon with high ceilings and a lot of wood. The restaurant area was alright, but it really had a nice ambiance throughout. The food was good. Nothing too over the top amazing. They had a nice selection of beers and our server was very friendly, helpful, and patient when we needed a little more time to decide on what to get (which is why they get a 3 instead of a 2). The only reason I am tempted to give this place 2 stars was the music. When we came in it was loud, and rough. If the musicians were good I wouldn't have a problem, but the percussion was off beat and simplistic and the piano was too loud. The icing on the poop-show cake was the woman singing, who sounded more like a bugling elk. I love bluesy voices, and this woman was trying her best, but it was more caterwauling than singing. Thankfully she held out until we were done with dinner to attempt Wayne Newton's L.O.V.E. I l.o.v.e. that song and when done right it is great...she was so bad we decided to ditch our beers and run for the door. I was embarrassed for all of them. By the expressions on other people's faces, and the fact that everyone was crammed at the back of the restaurant away from the noise, only a select few were actually enjoying the show. Their overly boisterous cheering made me think they were probably friends and/or significant others. I probably wouldn't go back.

Love this place. Go there. Local meats, great service, great food and drinks. That is all.

It sounded odd but I decided to give the mac and cheese with buffalo chicken a try. I'm so glad I did because it was awesome. The portion was huge. I'll go back there again for the same entree if I'm in MT again.

So glad we listened to the glowing reviews on this place. They weren't lying! The ambience is pleasant, our waitress was very friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. I got the Hades Burger, and it was one of the best burgers I've had in quite a while. My wife was very pleased with her salad. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious. And then she suckered us into dessert, and OMG they had rhubarb cobbler! So good. And there were so many things on the menu we wanted to try, so we will be back for sure.

Okay, this place has a nice atmosphere and they even have live music which is great but for the price you pay for the food, it's definitely not worth it. The quality of the food does not reflect the price. Way overpriced if you ask me. Clam chowder doesn't taste like clam chowder, they ran out when I ordered it and didn't even bother to tell me til I received my food without it. I glad I didn't get it because I tasted my husband's and it was not good. He would rather eat canned clam chowder. My fish tacos weren't anything special. I'll say the appetizers we had were decent. The pulled pork nachos. Coconut shrimp was overcooked. Halibut encrusted with crab.... $29 for a tiny piece that didn't taste like it had any crab in it. They say it specializes in burgers so maybe if I decide I wanna give it a chance I'll go try a burger. Oh and our service was decent that's why it got the 3 stars

The burgers and fries are delicious. I've had several different versions. The Maguire is delicious. They also have the best bison burgers I've tasted in Montana.

after a long day on the motorcycle, we were getting hangry, so lucky for us Bert & Ernies was right across the street from our hotel. (and excitedly suggested by the front desk clerk who checked us in) we stood at the 'please wait to be seated' sign for about 3 minutes until someone noticed us, then it took her another 2 minutes to clear a table. Once we were seated, it was truly 10 minutes before someone came for our drink orders. But after all the waiting, it was smooth sailing! There are 14 local microbrews on tap, and the selection was great. We both ordered Burgers made with Montana Bison, and they were both awesome. like, sooo awesome. Mine came with a fried egg, spinach, & Siracha mayo, and was cooked perfectly. Jimmy said the same about his. The list of sides available with your meal was great (cottage cheese! I love cottage cheese! but I didn't order it.) I picked the Cilantro Coleslaw, and although I didn't taste much cilantro, there was lots of cucumber, and it was really really good. Jimmy got a side of Manhattan clam chowder, and I'm pretty positive it was just the Campbell's Soup canned stuff. (barf). we had about 4 different waitress come to our table, and they were all nice. one lady brought us free cookies that she had baked because she didn't want to have to throw them away after the long weekend! (I ate mine in bed a few hours later -delicious!) one thing that I didn't like about B&E's is they had live entertainment, like a man and his guitar and a piano player, which i hated. nothing against the guys, they were actually pretty good, but it's just weird during dinner in my opinion. also, In between sets he stood up and cruised around the restaurant playing a pan flute, stopping beside people's tables to serenade them. like, go away - I'm trying to eat & have a conversation...was I supposed to tip him? I dunno? it was weird. thankfully he only did 3 laps. (again, nothing personal about the guy or his music, both were good, but in a sit down fully-lit dining place it's just weird. But I'm an asshole like that!

Wonderful food and ambiance. Great entertainment. Lovely chef/owner. If you want a chain, don't come here. For a local experience....come and come often. Watch for special events....farm-to-table dinners for example.

Used the nearby option on my yelp app to find this local gem. These guys did it up right on our visit. Very extensive comfort food-ish menu with several healthy and veggie options too. I had the mango fish tacos. Perfectly grilled mahi in a tasty mango pico sauce. My colleague had the Pushkin bison burger and let me try a little piece. The bun was perfect and tasted like it had been lightly washed with butter after toasting. The bison (ordered medium at server's suggestion ) practically melted in your mouth. I don't like blue cheese so I scraped it from my 'tasting' portion. My dining companion said the blue cheese was good but a bit strong and a little hot in flavor - so if that isn't your thing, you may want to order on the side. We also had a side of chips. Good, but a little too salty for me. Not bad though. Service was also very good and I would definitely check this place out on my next trip to Great Falls.

My wife got the fish and chips and i got the old fashion burger. Simply, very good. We need to go here again.

So this was the first place I ate at in mt-and I wish they were all this good. Sadly this place had no affiliation with the aforementioned Sesame Street characters, which as odd as this is too say-is too bad. The staff was great! They had excellent beer/ food recommendations and were extremely friendly. I had a buffalo and blue cheese burger with a side of onion rings. Not very healthy but extremely tasty! The burger was perfectly cooked and just juicy enough with our being too greasy. The onion rings were a smaller portion, but weren't over cooked and had a good chewiness and satisfying crunch. The place was quite empty which is sad but hopefully the will be there for my next visit.

We went back to eat dinner with some friends on a Saturday night! We waited 35 minutes to get seated after they told us it would be 15 minutes!! That was not that big of a deal! We ended up getting a table at the very back room! After 25 minutes I finally asked the hostess if someone was going to be taking our order! Turns out they forgot out us! Things just went downhill from there as far as wait time! 2 and a half hours later we finally finished eating dinner! Food was not as good as it has been previous times!

Food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent! Even better it's owned and operated by an AMAZING local Chef who is extremely supportive of our community. I've never had a bad meal and we eat lunch or dinner there at least once a week. BEST house salad in town! Great job!

    (5)
  • Brian S.

This place rocked. The service was outstanding. The bartender (Cody?) recommended the cottage burger, so I went with it, and it was phenomenal. I had a house salad too and really enjoyed that. Id definitely recommend this place to anyone. Very good food and good value.

A vegetarian in Montana dream! Had an amazing quinoa spinach salad and substituted the prosciutto for beets. YUMMY! Finished the meal off with Guinness chocolate cake. Rich and filling. Share with a friend or two. Best place I've eaten in great falls.

12 of us went to lunch at the restaurant today and all and all it was a disappointing experience. The soup offered was a baked potato soup and it was a disaster. It was served Lukewarm and had a strange aftertaste. This was mentioned to the waiter and we were told that they were almost out of soup so that explained why it was tepid. Since we arrived at the restaurant at 11:30 we were surprised to find out that they were almost out of their daily soup. I guess when you're almost out of soup you serve it lukewarm at this restaurant. The sandwiches were alright but most disturbing was the indifference of the waiter. Wasn't really concerned about the customers.

This is the only place I know of to get decent poutine south of the border. There may be other places, but since going to B&E's, I haven't tried to find them. I often just order a plate of poutine as my meal because it is so amazing. If I am not ordering the poutine, the buffalo burgers are my second choice. They are so good; you can tell the meat is super fresh. The service is average. Not shoddy, not outstanding. But the food makes up for it. The atmosphere is also pretty cool, in my opinion. I've never been there for the live music nights, but it's cool that it's an option. They also seem to have a pretty well-stocked bar. Basically, if I can afford to eat out in Great Falls, this is where I want to go.

  • Jordan K.

I was very disappointed with my service, not only were we treated like subpar customers due to the fact that we didn't have a reservation, even though there were only six other tables and the whole restaurant. We were finally showing to our booth and then sat there for 15 minutes without anyone even coming to check our drink order. When the server finally came to the table next to ours, she could not even remember the six beers on tap, she then walked right past is not even acknowledging that we were there. The only reason that someone came by to check on us was when we were standing up to leave. We will not be returning to this restaurant and will be letting our friends know of the service that we received.

This place has been around for quite some time; I remember visiting it with friends in the 80's, when we were back from college during breaks. The beer selection was great back then, and now, it seems even better, with local craft brews their new specialty. Enjoyed a brew from Belt, and one from down the street in Great Falls. Now the food is still good - I would say tavern food, with some good selections of burgers and sandwiches, plus some entrees. Nice atmosphere, quality food, good beer, and friendly staff. Well worth a return visit.

    (5)
  • Brian M.

The atmosphere was inviting, low light comfortable environment. I had the Ruben which here is thin sliced pastrami and not corned beef. Also, had a Henry's root beer. We had a large party of 35 people and they handle it well using two servers instead of stressing out one server. I would go back again.

Amazing quality food for the price. I can easily eat under $10. The salad dressings are delicious, the burgers are sinful, and the staff is excellent.

This place was a pleasant surprise. I got the blackened chicken salad. The food was fresh and well cooked. The beer on tap is all from Montana. Service was good. A pleasant downtown experience!

We went with the Yelp recommendations and are we glad we did! Great American Pub atmosphere, cool decor & good live music the night we were here. Hubby & I had burgers & onion rings. The burgers were cooked to perfection. Wish we lived in the area cause this would definitely eat here often. Service was friendly & fast.

Great food, service and casual atmosphere! Friendly ambience and excellent location downtown. Fun to go to for a group or just for casual conversation. The menu is extensive and prices reasonable! I had the lettuce wraps and my friend had the chicken fingers. Next time well be more adventurous!

Did not like the food, the waiter was never around and they didn't have a booster seat for the kids. I ordered the baby back ribs not realizing it was possible to make a rib taste bad. I think they ended up giving me beef jerky drenched in BBQ sauce. My wife's burger and the zesty wings were not as spicy as advertised. The only dishes the waiter took during the meal was the dish they gave me to put my used ribs on, leaving us with a crowded table. The emptier the restaurant got, the less we saw our waiter. I was never given a refill of my water or my soda leaving us very thirsty with the dry food. The only good part of the day was when they brought the kids food out early so they didn't get out of hand.

Bert n Ernie's is so great for the entire family. I am a huge fan of their fish tacos, both the Cali and Home style are great. Sometimes the wait to be seated is lengthy, but that is proof that everyone in town loves this place.

    (5)
  • Vicki W.

Our family visited your restaurant yesterday. We loved the server, but our food was cold. The crab cakes were cold in the middle and the cali fish tacos were cold as well.

We went there for lunch last week and to our horror they changed their salad dressings and menu items. THE SKY WAS FALLING! We vowed they would plunge into the abyss to the wait staff, who asked us to give them a chance, so we did. IT WAS AMAZING! One of our top five burgers of all time was the truffle burger. The BEST Reuben sandwich I have ever put in my mouth, hands down. Their staff is excellent. Thank you Darcy, you are a skilled, polite, and informative server who doesn't blanch in the face of persons resentful of changes! Friends invited us to dinner there tonight and we are excited to see what else they have to offer. ONWARD!

Ate a wonderful dinner while traveling up to Glacier. They stressed the use of local produce and meats and you can taste the care that goes into their food. A solid beer, wine, and liquor menu as well.

  • Jonathon S.

The fries, poutine, and service were exceptional. My wife's smokehouse burger was pretty tasty and the beef was cooked very well. Unfortunately my bison burger was way overcooked and, as a result, dry. Bison is easy to overcooked but with a menu with multiple bison burgers on it and a recommendation from the staff, I thought I was safe. I would stick to the beef in the future.

    (3)
  • G M.

Servers are always friendly & promp. The food exceeds expectations and you can tell that a lot of experience and caring goes into all the menu items. Usually eat early so there is not a problem getting a table or booth. Good selection of beers. Great place to take friends.

Spent a lot of time here when I lived in Great Falls. To be honest, Bert & Ernie's is one of the only restaurants I can recommend there. They've got a good sized dining area, so the wait is never longer than 10 minutes or so (if you wait at all). The staff were very friendly. I'm a big fan of the French fries, which are always thick and perfect, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The haymaker burger is awesome. Try adding a pineapple ring and it'll change your life forever.

I chose this place for dinner on my first evening in Great Falls with my coworkers, and although we all have different tastes and diets, we all walked away happy. myself: I'm vegan, and had previously done my homework and corresponded with the manager about available options. I was impressed that she expressed hospitality for my diet and had a willingness to customize dishes. I ate the lettuce roll-ups without the chicken- and, I have to admit, it was tasty! (the chefs added mushrooms to substitute for the mungbeans, and it was sublime). I would definitely order that again. I also ordered a modified spinach salad and although i thought i communicated i was vegan, it came to me with cheese on it. I simply told the waitress i couldn't eat the cheese and the chefs whipped up another salad. A colleague who loves her meat, especially her seafood was also satisfied with the warm seafood salad with jalapeño dressing. Very tasty local brews, too!

  • Amanda H.

Great option in downtown Great Falls. Sandwiches and burgers are solid, spinach side salads and house dressings are a bonus. Great draft list, weekdays are quiet, Thurs onward often live music. Skip the sweet potato fries, go for regular fries or chips.

We were told that everyone loves Bert and Ernie's so we tried it out. Had the fish tacos. Meh... The food was mediocre however the service was great, so I give an extra star.

I had lunch at Bert & Ernie's this week. Because it was in the middle of the work day I wouldn't order any of the great selection of beer but I did enjoy my iced tea. Bert & Ernie's in conveniently located in downtown Great Falls. The interior is "rustic" and very cool...it is obviously an old refurbished building. The place was busy but we still had prompt, friendly attention from the wait staff. Their lunch menu has many choices including burgers, soups, salads and sandwiches. I had a sandwich called Turkey & Thuringer, which was turkey, salami, sprouts and curried cream cheese. It was great! I don't know if I'll be getting back to Great Falls any time in the future, but if so I'll head back to Bert & Ernie's.

Visited 7/3/12 at 5:30 pm. Ordered a 3 piece halibut basket with onion rings and a side of fries with that to share with a friend. Also had the coconut shrimp appetizer, with the pineapple salsa. Seems they need to change out the deep fryer grease or something because it all had the taste of being fried in old oil. I have had better. The pineapple salsa tasted not fresh like coconut shrimp that really pop with that shredded coconut. The beer was good nice bartender, waitress was nice although the table behind us had to get their attention several times getting up to chase her down. Overall cool atmosphere but the food itself is really not worth going back for unless they change the oil. Because I was wanting fresh halibut but they are a lil stingy on the sizes for the basket. Am I going back? No.

Great place in the middle of Great Falls. A small seven person bar but worked well for lunch alone. Nice menu, friendly servers and 14 beers on tap. Hand pattied burger came out cooked exactly to order. A not to miss...

We wanted to eat at a local restaurant and this was recommended by a local shop keeper. Very glad we listened to her. Mom had chicken fingers as usual. She says now she will never be able to eat them anywhere else, these raised the bar to impossible heights. They were very moist and the coating was crispy. The spinach salad was very fresh and the homemade Italian dressing was the best ever. I had a Rueben and it rates among the best I've had too. The service was prompt and friendly. We will definitely eat here when we return. Mom of course will have the chicken fingers but I will see if something else compares to what I've already had.

Haven't seen a live show there yet but I'm looking forward to it. Food was great, the waitress was nice, and overall it was a very good experience. Be aware that if you order the nachos as an appetizer, you might want to go light on the entrees. They were good but myself, my wife, and our two kids finished about a third of it, and I'm not a small guy. Great selection of beers too, and that makes me happy!

Great beer selection at a local pub/tavern! Sat up at the bar and had a great chat with a local patron about beer, Great Falls, business, the history of the pub and skiing....my buffalo burger was good and accompanied by a nice Caesar salad. I was in town overnight for business and looking for an alternative to Chiles / On the boarder / name the chain.

ok, I am probably getting a rep for being way too particular - well, guess I am - anyway, Bert and Ernies was our 4th choice last night~!! Tried the new place that replaced Elmers, Beef and something - nope, were given menus then forgotten about - then MacKenzie River Pizza and maybe we should have waited in line with everyone else but decided nope, try elsewhere - on to Jakers, wow, way crowded-of course, until finally I remembered B&E downtown - didn't look too crowded so tried it - the guy who served us (tall,1st initial M)was scurrying around with a newbie shadowing him-he greeted us timely&a little too "fake" friendly but nonetheless efficient.....initially - ordered drinks and after waiting too long for someone to take food order tall guy comes bopping over all smiles-I told him we were just about ready to leave;anyway tried their buffalo burger cooked well, hubby wanted bbq burger cooked medium-waiter said it'd take 10 min. and was a little more like 20,it finally came and orders were reversed(my burger medium, his well)we ate them anyway and they were ok-hubby says bbq sauce tasted out of a bottle-don't like the sun coming in window at the booths in late pm-there are no shades-all in all, meh had better we are natives of MT but back for a visit-Im with Amy P.-restaurant scene is sadly lacking

I have been to Bert N Ernies numerous times and every visit was just as pleasant as the last. The staff is polite and very attentive, the music is fun, and the decor is very inviting. My favorite food has to be the Buffalo Wings. They are the best I have ever ate. That is worth the trip itself. Then add the beers on draft and the buffalo burger and you have a great night out with awesome food.

Just visiting Great Falls, this is a great place to avoid the chains and the restaraunt/casino thing. I was impressed with how clean and efficient the place is . . . this is a personal thing, but our server-although polite & quick-must have been preoccupied this day, very un-personal. The buffalo burger could have been better if it wasn't cooked so long, but great flavor.

It was OK. I don't know. I was in the mood for a veggie burger, and they were close to my hotel. I looked at the menu and their gardenburger sounded interesting. Of course, from the description of "delicious combination of grains and vegetables" I was expecting something besides the same kind of plain veggie burger patty I could buy at the grocery store. Still, the jalapeno cream cheese they put on it was pretty good. I'd probably go back, but I'd probably try something else.

Looking for a place to eat in downtown Great Falls led us to Bert & Ernie's. Party of seven, including 3 kids under 10 years of age. Quickly sat & served. Drinks were brought, orders were given. Great selection of beers and the kids were happy with their menu choices. Very friendly & knowledgeable staff. I got the Pishkin buffalo burger, which was delicious! I didn't even reach for the ketchup & mustard, ate it as it was served and not a crumb was left on my plate! Will be adding this place to my Great Falls MUST list when I comeback in 2011!

Live bluegrass music on Thursday nights makes every meal even better. Their beer-battered french fries and Bison burger are incredible. We also love their chicken sandwiches and blackened chicken salad with their house dressing. There are plenty of other expensive meals on the menu that sound great, but we usually go cheap and are plenty satisfied. I'd recommend skipping the sauce on the Monterey chicken sandwich. Desserts are just okay. Having Sonny as your waiter certainly enhances the experience. This is a man who loves his job!!

It was a toss up on whether I should give this place a 2 star review or a 3 star review. On the plus side when we sat down our waitress came over took our drink orders and within about a minute we had frosty cold beer at out table. We ordered the zesty wings which were delightful for someone who likes a little spice but not too over-powering. And I think my favorite part of all was our waitress who sounded like the woman from the movie Fargo. My wife and I could help but giggle every time she came over to talk to us. But as for the rest of the meal I feel it was really lacking. My wife got a salad which was ok but I mean come on they put fried chicken on the thing, isn't that kind of like cheating? The fried chicken cancels out the lettuce and anything good that comes along with it, overall an ok dish. I ordered the french dip which i was kind of excited about it just because dipping meat into an au jus is delightful. When it came out I was very disappointed. The sandwich was like $10 and it was no bigger than my hand. I've payed less for a sandwich that was the size of my forearm. And the bread this thing was served on was as if they had just grabbed a bag of store brand rolls at the local grocery store. Overall not really impressed. The food was overpriced and not worth a damn, except for those tasty wings. But I must admit I would probably go back just to hear that waitress talk again, maybe a "ya sure ya betcha"

Nice restored building in the old town part of Great Falls. Plenty of very good beers on tap plus bottled. I had the buffalo burger which was good but not great, served with ordinary steak fries. Also had the BLT soup which turned out to be a creamy tomato base with bacon and lettuce in it which was better than I expected. We also had the fish and chips which was good but nothing special. All in all good and would certainly go back if I wanted a burger or light meal.

I was traveling from Glacier back to my home in Minneapolis. Finding Bert & Ernie's (thank you Yelp) made our night. Good food and great beer. Ribs were fantastic and salad tasty. I'd stop there again and recommend to anyone.

Very good. Food and service were both great. Attentive waitstaff and varied menu. Good beer selection - 14 taps that I can see. Wines too. Try the Pushkin burger - a bison burger with blue cheese and bacon.

great place for lunch, dinner, or a just a beer. the 'fowl burger' is easily the most amazingly delicious chicken sandwich known to man. nice fries too.

5 piece band on a Thursday with no cover that jams! Draft beer and bison burgers! Almost gave y'all 5 stars till I saw how thin burger was and that the onion rings aren't breaded to order. I can tell you how to do it. Will save you money and improve quality vastly. The down side? Cleaning the station you bread things at. Got a pro tip for that too though. Keep after it guys.

In the heart of downtown. Great atmosphere, superior service. The steak sandwich was excellent; however, the fries were on the greasy side. The bacon, mushroom hamburger was a little on the small side, but cooked precisely as ordered. The chicken fingers, while huge, were overly breaded for my taste. The chicken salad was huge, filled with plenty of chicken, and consisted of a wide variety of fresh garden vegetables. Overall, the meal was a pleasant dining experience. I would go back and would definitely recommend Bert & Ernies to my friends and family.

I was in Great Falls for several weeks on business and truth be told, the restaurant scene is sadly lacking. I turned to Yelp and the majority of reviews for restaurants in the area were not that great. Bert and Ernie's and Umami (which I've been to and recommend) were the only two that seemed to have a reliable number of reviews that were consistently above average. So, my first trip to B & E's was for lunch with colleagues. I had a salad, it was ok. The ice tea was weak. The service was friendly and efficient. I had not yet yelped so I went in with fresh eyes. A week or so later I was craving a burger. I remembered that B & E had bison burgers on their menu and I had not tried bison before. I yelped and the reviews for their burgers were pretty good so off I went! It was busy, but there was no wait. I was by myself and they seated me at a 4 top by the bar, kind of a big table for one but whatever. The waiter was polite and efficient. He was very helpful with my menu questions. I ended up ordering the bacon mushroom burger with bison instead of beef to be accompanied by sweet potato fries and a frosty adult beverage. My food came out in a timely manner. I had requested my burger cooked medium and it came out darn near perfect. Just a tad bit past medium but it was still juicy and delish. The bun was quite nice. The sweet potato fries were nice and crispy, but otherwise nothing special. I highly doubt they were fresh cut. The burger was the star, as well it should have been. Kind of strange thing that made me both scratch my head and smile. I think they like to put singles over at the tables by the bar. Maybe they think those of us that dine out solo are self conscious around diners that aren't? Who knows...but anyway, they seated another single at the 4 top next to me. Very nice elderly gentleman that asked what I had ordered. I told him what it was, and he told our waiter he wanted exactly what I had gotten. Cute little guy. I was afraid he was going to end up being chatty but instead we had the pleasure of a live musician. That was a nice reprieve as I was not feeling particularly chatty myself. :-) So, all things considered it was a nice meal at a fair price and I will go back again when I go back to Great Falls.
